About Us
Parasort was imagined as a meeting point between two coastal cultures that have always understood the value of a warm room on a cold evening. From Britain we borrowed the grandeur of the Victorian seaside hotel, the pleasure of a properly poured drink and the ritual of dressing for dinner. From the Nordic north we took the sauna, the love of clean lines and natural materials, and the belief that good design should make everyday life calmer. The result is a 212-key seafront resort that opens its doors on Friday 18 June 2027, timed to coincide with the Midsummer weekend.
Our team brings together hoteliers, chefs, sommeliers, spa therapists and event planners who have worked in landmark properties across London, Edinburgh, Helsinki, Copenhagen and Stockholm. What unites us is a simple idea: hospitality is not about grand gestures alone, but about remembering how a guest takes their coffee, which table they prefer and whether they would like the sauna warmed before they return from a walk on the beach.
Our Philosophy
We describe our approach as "warm modernism". The architecture is bold and confident, with deep navy facades, racing-green joinery and pillar-box red accents inspired by British heritage, softened by birch, wool, linen and hand-thrown ceramics drawn from Finnish design traditions of the 1960s and 1970s. Inside, every space has been planned around natural light, the sound of the sea and comfortable places to pause.
- Service with memory: preferences are recorded only with consent and used solely to make each stay more personal.
- Seasonal and local: our kitchens work with East Anglian growers, day-boat fishermen and Nordic producers.
- Considered sustainability: heat recovery from the spa, rainwater harvesting and a single-use-plastic-free operation from day one.
- Responsible hospitality: we care about the wellbeing of every guest across every part of the resort.

Responsible Gambling
At Parasort, gambling is offered as one small part of a much wider leisure experience, and it should always remain an enjoyable form of entertainment rather than a way to make money or escape problems. We are committed to providing a safe environment, protecting vulnerable people and preventing underage access, in line with the Gambling Act 2005 and the Gambling Commission's Licence Conditions and Codes of Practice.
Our Commitments
- Strict 18+ entry, with photographic ID checks for anyone who appears under 25 (Think 25 policy).
- No credit is extended for gambling, and there are no cash machines on the gaming floor.
- Clocks are clearly visible and regular breaks are encouraged.
- All gaming-floor staff complete safer gambling training before their first shift and annually thereafter.
- Trained staff are empowered to start a supportive conversation if they notice signs of harm.
- Responsible gambling information and helpline numbers are displayed throughout the relevant areas.
- Marketing is never directed at people who have self-excluded or opted out.
Tips for Staying in Control
- Decide on a budget before you start and treat it as the cost of an evening's entertainment.
- Set a time limit and take regular breaks.
- Never chase losses or borrow money to gamble.
- Avoid gambling when you are upset, stressed, tired or have been drinking.
- Balance gambling with other activities – the resort has plenty to enjoy.
Warning Signs
You may want to seek support if you notice that you are:
- spending more money or time than you intended;
- feeling the need to gamble with increasing amounts to get the same excitement;
- hiding gambling from family or friends, or lying about it;
- feeling anxious, irritable or low when trying to cut down;
- neglecting work, studies, family or other responsibilities;
- borrowing money, selling possessions or missing bills because of gambling.
Self-Exclusion Protocols
Self-exclusion lets you choose to be barred from gambling areas for a set period. We take every request seriously and handle it promptly, discreetly and without judgement.
- Request: speak to any duty manager in person, call +44 1493 806 420, or email support@parasort.com with the subject "Self-Exclusion".
- Duration: choose a minimum period of six months and up to five years. The exclusion cannot be shortened once in place.
- Identification: we will ask for photographic identification and take a photograph so our security team can recognise you.
- Activation: exclusion takes effect immediately. You will be removed from all gaming-related marketing.
- National scheme: you can also register with SENSE (Self-Enrolment National Scheme of Exclusion), which covers land-based venues across Great Britain. For online gambling, GAMSTOP (gamstop.co.uk) blocks access to licensed UK websites.
- Ending exclusion: once the minimum period has ended, the exclusion remains active until you return in person, request removal and complete a 24-hour cooling-off period.
Self-exclusion applies only to gambling areas. You remain warmly welcome in our restaurants, bars, spa and hotel.
Other Tools
- Time-out: a short break of 24 hours to six weeks, arranged with a duty manager.
- Spend and time reminders: staff can arrange personal reminders on request.
- Third-party concerns: family members who are worried about someone may contact our duty manager in confidence.
- Bank blocks: most UK banks offer gambling transaction blocks through their apps.

Parasort Hotel and Casino Resort
A Nordic-British seaside retreat of 212 rooms and suites, three restaurants, four bars, a waterfront sauna spa and a calendar of dinners and celebrations that runs from Midsummer to Christmas and back again.
Grand opening · Friday 18 June 2027A seaside hotel resort shaped by two coastlines
There is a particular kind of happiness that belongs to the seaside: the salt on the air when you open the window, the sound of gulls over the promenade, the anticipation of a long dinner after a day spent doing very little at all. Parasort was created to capture that feeling and give it a modern, generous home. Set directly on the promenade of Great Yarmouth, our resort brings the grand tradition of the British seaside hotel together with the calm, light-filled design language of the Nordic north.
The building itself tells the story. A deep navy façade rises above the beach, framed by racing-green window frames and punctuated by pillar-box red balconies. Inside, you will find pale birch floors, hand-woven wool throws, Finnish-inspired lighting in mustard and cream, and wide windows that frame the North Sea at every turn. It is retro without being nostalgic, comfortable without being fussy, and designed above all for slow mornings and memorable evenings.
Parasort is a full-service hotel resort rather than a single-purpose venue. Most of our guests come for the rooms, the restaurants, the spa and the sea air. An intimate, adults-only casino floor sits discreetly on the mezzanine for those who would like it, but the heart of Parasort is its hospitality: excellent beds, thoughtful service and a table worth booking ahead for.
Rooms designed for sleeping well and waking slowly
Every one of our 212 rooms and suites has been planned around three things: a superb night's sleep, a view worth waking up to and enough space to genuinely unpack and settle in. Beds are handmade in England with layered wool and cotton toppers, finished with crisp Egyptian cotton linen and a pillow menu that includes buckwheat, feather and hypoallergenic options. Blackout curtains in heavy navy wool shut out the summer dawn completely, which matters on a coastline where the sun rises before five in June.
Bathrooms feature rain showers, heated floors and Nordic botanical amenities scented with birch, juniper and sea buckthorn. Sea-facing rooms include a window seat wide enough to curl up with a book, while our Promenade Suites and the two penthouse suites have private terraces with outdoor tubs looking straight out over the water.
Harbour Rooms
Calm, cosy and quietly elegant, facing the town and the historic quays, with a king or twin beds and a writing desk in solid oak.
Sea View Rooms
Floor-to-ceiling windows, a deep window seat and uninterrupted views of the North Sea and the morning light on the sand.
Promenade Suites
Separate living rooms with a sofa bed, a private terrace with an outdoor cedar tub and a dedicated suite host.
Penthouse Suites
Two top-floor suites with a private sauna, dining for eight, a wraparound terrace and butler service around the clock.
Families are thoughtfully catered for, with interconnecting rooms, cots and children's bathrobes on request, and a supervised kids' club during school holidays. Pets are welcome in selected ground-floor rooms with direct access to the promenade, complete with a bed, bowls and a list of the best dog-friendly walks along the coast.
Three restaurants, one obsession with the coast
Food is at the centre of everything we do. Our culinary team has built three distinct restaurants, each with its own personality but all sharing the same commitment to seasonal ingredients, honest technique and the remarkable produce of the East Anglian coast and countryside. Herring, crab, mussels and samphire arrive from the local shoreline; lamb comes from the Norfolk Broads; and Nordic ingredients such as lingonberries, cloudberries, rye and smoked fish are sourced from small producers we have visited personally.
The Admiral's Table
Our flagship restaurant serves an eight-course tasting menu that moves through the seasons of the North Sea. Expect hand-dived scallops with brown butter and dill, cured mackerel with beetroot and horseradish, and slow-roasted Norfolk lamb with smoked potato. A sommelier-led wine pairing focuses on English sparkling wines and cool-climate European vineyards.
Lingon
A bright, relaxed brasserie overlooking the promenade, serving Nordic-British breakfasts, long lunches and easy dinners. Our breakfast spread includes cardamom buns baked each morning, Karelian rye pasties, kippers, full English plates and a porridge bar with lingonberry jam. Evenings bring fish and chips done properly, Swedish-style meatballs and a generous Sunday roast.
Savu
Named after the Finnish word for smoke, Savu is a beachside grill built around a custom wood-fired oven and a traditional smoking cabinet. The menu celebrates fire-cooked fish, flame-grilled vegetables and dry-aged beef, served at long communal tables that open onto the sand on warm summer evenings.
A year of dinners worth dressing up for
Beyond our everyday menus, Parasort hosts a programme of signature dinners and seasonal celebrations designed to bring guests and locals together around the table. These are evenings with a sense of occasion: candlelight, live music, guest chefs and the kind of conversation that runs well past dessert. Places are limited, and resident guests receive priority booking.
- June · Opening weekend
Midsummer Feast
We open on Midsummer weekend with a long-table feast on the beach inspired by the Finnish Juhannus celebration: new potatoes with dill, cured salmon, strawberries and cream, a bonfire at sunset and folk musicians playing until late.
- August
Crayfish Party
A joyful Nordic tradition of paper lanterns, party hats, crayfish boiled with dill crowns, crisp Västerbotten cheese tart and singing between courses. Expect laughter and a good deal of napkin use.
- Monthly
Chef's Table Supper Club
Twelve guests, one table in the kitchen and a menu that changes every month as our head chef experiments with new dishes before they reach the main menu.
- October
Harvest & Game Dinner
Norfolk game, foraged mushrooms and orchard fruit, paired with English ciders and autumn ales from regional brewers.
- December
Pikkujoulu & Christmas Season
From Finnish-style "little Christmas" parties with glögi and gingerbread to a traditional British Christmas lunch with all the trimmings, December at Parasort is generous and festive.
Four bars, each with its own hour of the day
A great hotel bar is part living room, part theatre and part neighbourhood meeting place. At Parasort we have four, each designed for a different mood and a different moment, from an early-evening aperitif with the sea breeze to a nightcap by the fire.
The Birch Bar
Our lobby cocktail bar, clad in pale birch and brass, mixes classic British and Nordic-inspired drinks such as the Sea Buckthorn Spritz and a juniper-forward martini made with English gin. Open from noon until late.
Lantern Rooftop
A seasonal rooftop terrace with heated seating, mustard parasols and panoramic views. Golden hour here is the most popular time of the day, with sharing plates and English sparkling wine by the glass.
The Snug
A wood-panelled pub-style room with a real fire, cask ales from Norfolk breweries, a curated whisky library and a selection of Nordic aquavits. Board games and newspapers are always on hand.
Velvet Room
An intimate late-night lounge with live jazz, soul and Nordic folk-pop on Fridays and Saturdays, deep red velvet seating and a menu of after-dinner cocktails and digestifs.
All of our bars offer a thoughtful selection of low- and no-alcohol drinks, including house-made shrubs, botanical sodas and alcohol-free sparkling wines, so every guest can raise a glass in their own way. Our bartenders also run weekly masterclasses in classic cocktails, gin tasting and the art of Nordic aquavit.
The Löyly Spa: Finnish sauna culture by the North Sea
Löyly is the Finnish word for the wave of steam that rises when water meets hot stones, and it gives its name to the most distinctive part of Parasort. Our spa is built around six saunas, including a traditional wood-fired smoke sauna, a panoramic sea-view sauna, an infrared cabin and a gentle herbal steam room. Between rounds, guests cool off in a cold plunge pool, under a bucket shower or, for the brave, with a short dip in the sea directly from the beach.
Treatments draw on Nordic and British botanicals: birch-leaf vihta rituals, seaweed wraps, peat-mud therapies and deep-tissue massages designed for walkers and cyclists. A heated 20-metre indoor pool, a fully equipped gym, morning yoga on the beach and guided breathwork sessions round out the wellbeing programme.
- Six saunas, cold plunge and relaxation lounges with sea views
- Twelve treatment rooms, including two couples' suites
- Heated indoor pool and adults-only quiet hours
- Day spa passes available to non-resident guests
Weddings, private parties and meetings with a view
Weddings
Say your vows on the beach at sunset or in the glass-walled Harbour Room, then dance the night away in our Grand Ballroom with space for up to 280 guests. Our wedding team handles everything from flowers to fireworks, with packages that include a Midsummer bonfire ceremony for couples who love Nordic traditions.
Meetings & Retreats
Eight flexible meeting rooms with natural daylight, fast Wi-Fi and integrated audio-visual technology. Leadership retreats can combine strategy sessions with sauna rituals, beach walks and private dinners, creating the space for clearer thinking.
Private Parties
Milestone birthdays, anniversaries and family reunions are tailored around you, with private dining rooms for 10 to 60 guests, bespoke menus and live entertainment arranged by our events team.
"We wanted a place where the morning begins with a sea swim and a cardamom bun, and the evening ends with good company, a candlelit table and one last drink by the fire."
The Parasort opening team
Beyond the hotel: the coast, the Broads and the seasons
Great Yarmouth sits at the meeting point of the North Sea and the Norfolk Broads, one of Britain's most beautiful wetland landscapes. Our concierge team can arrange private boat trips through the Broads, seal-watching excursions to see the grey seal colonies along the coast, guided birdwatching walks and cycling routes through quiet villages and windmill-dotted marshland.
Closer to home, the town offers a lively heritage seafront, historic rows and quays, maritime museums and miles of wide sandy beach. Norwich, with its medieval cathedral, independent shops and celebrated markets, is less than forty minutes away.
Each season has its own rhythm at Parasort. Summer brings long light evenings, rooftop drinks and beach dinners. Autumn is for brisk walks followed by a sauna and a hearty dinner at Savu. Winter wraps the resort in candlelight, woollen blankets and festive menus. Spring returns with fresh asparagus, lambs on the marshes and the first sea swims of the year for those who dare.
Sustainability, built in
Heat captured from our saunas warms the pool, rainwater irrigates our kitchen garden, and our menus favour suppliers within a fifty-mile radius. Single-use plastics have been designed out of the hotel from the start.
Getting here
Trains run from Norwich to Great Yarmouth in around half an hour, with connections to London. Norwich International Airport is around 35 minutes by car. Valet parking and EV charging are complimentary for resident guests.
